“Avalonia” is a swirling whimsical landscape of a crumbling castle set on seaside cliffs with pink flowers tumbling down to the water. It represents the everlasting love of two; that even when what we build disintegrates, the energy of it lingers.
The Scotland Collection is an ongoing body of work that draws visual reference from a road trip my wife and I took through Scotland in spring of 2023. It is inspired by queer ancestry and what their lives might have been like, imbued with my personal experiences of love, friendship, and queerness. Read more here.

They can be framed without glass in front because of the soft, non-reflective, matte canvas finish.
Frame the print flat & mounted to a board (with acid-free adhesive) just like you would a regular paper print.

My most commonly asked question - How did you get all that texture in it?!
Here’s a bit more about my process of taking a textured painting all the way to a canvas print - done entirely by me, Carly.
Photographing: I use a macro lens on a DSLR camera to take highly detailed images of my paintings. I make sure the natural light is bright but soft, and I hang the painting somewhere that will be the best to recreate hanging in your home. I make sure the sunlight direction highlights the “light source” of the painting, and create just a small bit of shadow to show the texture of the oil paint.
Editing: I take the multiple detail photos I take of each painting and put them into Photoshop - arranging, adjusting, and blending them to get a single digital file.
Printing: I have a giant printer in my house that I produce all my prints with. I do multiple colour tests to get the print to say exactly what I want from the original.
Packaging, shipping, etc: I am proud to say all prints are printed, cut, labelled, packed, and shipped from my studio in Edmonton, Alberta.

About the painting: Alright this is one of MY faves from this collection. The purple on pink on purple colours fill my heart with so much warmth, and the chunky oil paint flowers are DELICIOUS. I would love to just crawl into this scene and dream for hours, it is a very inspirational piece for me!
The Day Dream Collection is born from a year of not being able to fill my inspirational cup the same way I was used to. Without social time with friends and family, or travelling freely to gather scenes and experiences, I was given the gift of painting a lot more from what’s on the inside. My photo references came from past adventures, walks and runs around my neighbourhood, and a lot more pure imagination of how I wished things to be.

This was the first painting I had done for my collection! I am so in love with the colours and textures - I really pushed myself to create how I wanted to.
For me this piece is symbolic of a goal and/or reaching one’s highest potential. The journey there and everything that goes into reaching it is what makes it beautiful and worthwhile.

This painting is a study for my large piece titled Kaleidoscope of Life. My front yard flower garden is the visual inspiration for this piece, and my friendship and love with my wife is the emotional inspiration.
Flowers in full bloom, the stage in their cycle before death. Sunsets in spectacular glory, the last show before dark. The Golden Hour Collection, for me, is a delightful celebration of the last decade of painting and my life, and a share of the love I have and had for the many people who came in and went.
