The Vennel Steps are an unusual vantage point to see Edinburgh Castle from. The little alleyway is lined with old dwellings and quaint street lamps, and lovely blooming flowers while we were there in the spring. As with most alleys in Edinburgh, it feels like a tucked away secret shortcut.

"Reverie" is painted from a sunset photo taken at one of our last rugby practices of the year. The late summer practices give us the chance to run around under some gorgeous colours as the sky plays out over the pitch. This has turned into one of my favourite sunset pieces from this collection, and captures a memory and feeling I will hold onto forever.

"Holy Grail" is painted from an epic rainbow-tastic sunset we saw this summer while camping at Fish Lake in Alberta. I typically get so enamoured in taking photos of the sky that I forget how interesting it can be through the trees, so this was my attempt at portraying that in my style.
