While I painted this, I was reflecting on how supportive my family has been since I came out. Not just my parents who love me unconditionally and have accepted my partner as their own, but my extended family too are so supportive of all the LGBTQ+ members of our family.
Not every person, in fact many LGBTQ+ community members, has this kind of family support. So I want to dedicate this painting to your chosen family - whoever they may be.

My canvas prints are available in sizes that are quite easy to find frames for.
They can be framed without glass in front because of the soft, non-reflective, matte canvas finish.
Frame the print flat & mounted to a board (with acid-free adhesive) just like you would a regular paper print.

Packaging: All prints ship rolled in a tube or in a flat mailer
Shipping prices: Range from $10 - $35 depending on the size of the print and the receiver’s location, calculated at checkout.

My most commonly asked question - How did you get all that texture in it?!
Here’s a bit more about my process of taking a textured painting all the way to a canvas print - done entirely by me, Carly.
Photographing: I use a macro lens on a DSLR camera to take highly detailed images of my paintings. I make sure the natural light is bright but soft, and I hang the painting somewhere that will be the best to recreate hanging in your home. I make sure the sunlight direction highlights the “light source” of the painting, and create just a small bit of shadow to show the texture of the oil paint.
Editing: I take the multiple detail photos I take of each painting and put them into Photoshop - arranging, adjusting, and blending them to get a single digital file.
Printing: I have a giant printer in my house that I produce all my prints with. I do multiple colour tests to get the print to say exactly what I want from the original.
Packaging, shipping, etc: I am proud to say all prints are printed, cut, labelled, packed, and shipped from my studio in Edmonton, Alberta.

I chose this scene because Grace LOVES paint brush flowers. And really, it is another piece in our continuous effort to make our relationship really special.
We postponed our wedding from this July to next, and really the only thing that has changed is when we will celebrate. Our love and happiness is found in the day to day of living our life together.
The Day Dream Collection is born from a year of not being able to fill my inspirational cup the same way I was used to. Without social time with friends and family, or travelling freely to gather scenes and experiences, I was given the gift of painting a lot more from what’s on the inside. My photo references came from past adventures, walks and runs around my neighbourhood, and a lot more pure imagination of how I wished things to be.
