This piece is painted from a beautiful sunset Grace and I saw while in Hawaii. It is a bit of a rare thing for me to use realistic colours, but I think the greyish blue, pale yellow, and soft orange that stray from my usual palette bring a beautiful quality to the piece that is simply different from my other work.
Flowers in full bloom, the stage in their cycle before death. Sunsets in spectacular glory, the last show before dark. The Golden Hour Collection, for me, is a delightful celebration of the last decade of painting and my life, and a share of the love I have and had for the many people who came in and went.
